Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L26) .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  5. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (L26)  or Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (LY7)  or Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS4) .
  6. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (LY7)  or Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS4)  or Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (L26) .

  8. Disconnect the harness connector (4) from the power steering pump (1).

  10. Remove the power steering mounting bolts from the power steering pump.
  11. Remove the power steering pump from the engine.
  12. Remove the power steering pump pulley from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (L26)  or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LS4)  or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LY7) .
  13. Remove the power steering pump reservoir from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle .
