Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (LY7)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the right front tire/wheel assembly. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (LY7)  or Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS4)  or Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (L26) .
  2. Remove the steering gear heat shield.
1 Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Hose

Procedure

  1. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  2. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
  3. Release the power steering reservoir inlet hose clamp.
  4. Disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet hose.
2 Power Steering Cooler Hose Retaining Clip (Qty: 2)
Tip:  Use a trim panel removal tool to disengage the clips and replace them if needed.
3 Power Steering Cooler Hose Fitting
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  27 N.m (20 lb ft)

4 Power Steering Cooler Hose

Procedure

  1. Replace the power steering cooler hose seal.
  2. After repairs, fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
