Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS4)

Preliminary Procedure
- Remove the front tire/wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Remove the right fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement
.
- Lower the rear of the frame approximately 51 mm (2 in). Refer to Frame Replacement
.
- Loosen the power steering gear bolts. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement .
- Fill and bleed the power steering system after the repair has been completed. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Cooler Pipe
Procedure
- Remove as much power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
- Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
- Disconnect the power steering cooler pipe from the power steering fluid reservoir.
- Disconnect all power steering cooler pipe retaining clips as needed with an appropriate tool. Replace any as needed.
- Disconnect the power steering cooler pipe fitting.
- After repairs, fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
Tighten:
27 N.m (20 lb ft)
