Installation Procedure

- Install the power steering pump reservoir to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle .
- Install the power steering pump pulley to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (L26) or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LS4) or Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LY7) .
- Position the power steering pump to the engine.
- Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (L26) or Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (LY7) or Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS4) .
- Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (LY7) or Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS4) or Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (L26) .
- Install the harness connector (1) to the power steering pump (4).
- Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L26) .
- Fill the power steering system with fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
- Operate the power steering system and inspect for power steering system leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .
