Lower front axle support

- Before lowering or removing the front axle: Secure the engine in the installation position.

Remove left and right crash lever

NOTE:
The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Version A:
Release screws (1) and (2).
Remove the crash lever (3).
- Version B:
Release the screw (1).
Feed out the crash lever (2) and remove.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Position the universal jack 2 219 012
with the special tools 0 495 819 (31 5 253) and 0 495 821 (31 5 255) on the front axle support
.
The center of gravity of the front axle must be placed centered over the universal jack 2 219 012!
- Support the front axle support with the universal jack 2 219 012
.
- Loosen screws (1) and (2).
- When lowering the front subframe, ensure there is sufficient distance between the steering gear (1) and the output shaft (2).
- Lower the front subframe (1) with the universal jack by dimension (A).
Dimension (A) = maximum 15 cm
