Removing the radial shaft seal for the output flange

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
When the engine is stopped after the completion of trip, it may be necessary to run the electric fan. In rare cases, operation of the electric fan can last up to 11 min. This protects the components. In this case, replacing the electric fan will not remedy the problem!

RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the transmission.
Damage to the transmission due to unapproved transmission oil.

- Use only the approved transmission oil.
- Check the transmission oil level after completing the repair.
- Brace the output flange with the special tool 0 491 440 (23 0 020) .
- Undo collar nut with the special tool 2 360 126 .
- Screw in the output flange with the special tool 0 492 083 (33 1 150) in direction of arrows and detach from the output shaft.
- Unscrew screws (1) on the special tool 0 494 546 (23 3 210) .
- Push special tool 0 494 546 (23 3 210) over the output shaft.
- Screw special tool 0 494 546 (23 3 210) into the radial shaft seal in the arrow direction until the special tool is securely connected to the radial shaft seal.
- Turn screw (1) into special tool 0 494 546 (23 3 210) in the arrow direction until the radial shaft seal is pulled out of the transmission housing.
- If necessary, remove sealing ring spring.
