Damage to steering column switch cluster (SZL) .
The steering column switch cluster (SZL) or the coil spring cassette can be damaged by twisting the steering wheel if the lower steering shaft (or the universal joint) is separated from the steering gear or the steering column .

- After separating the lower steering shaft (or the universal joint) from the steering gear or from the steering column, secure the steering wheel against twisting.

- Feed out the feed line (1) from the holder (2) in the arrow direction and place to one side.
- Feed out the return line (1) from of the holder (2) in the arrow direction and set it to one side.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Loosen screws (1).
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The center of gravity of the axle support must be in the center above the special tool.

- Align special tools 0 495 821 (31 5 255) and 0 495 819 (31 5 253) to front subframe .
- Raise the special tool 0 495 817 (31 5 251) with the special tool 2 219 012 and support the rear front subframe.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Release the screws (1) to (3).
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Lower the front subframe (1) with the special tool 2 219 012 .
- Feed out and remove the struts (2).
- Lower the front subframe (1) with the special tool 2 219 012
