- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Preliminary work
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING AIRBAG UNIT .
- Refer to REMOVING STEERING WHEEL .
- Refer to REMOVING LOWERING PART OF STEERING COLUMN SHROUD .
- Refer to REMOVING STEERING COLUMN SHROUD UPPER SECTION .
- Loosen screws (1).
- Remove the steering column switch cluster (SZL) (2).
- Unlock and disconnect connector (1) on the steering column switch cluster (SZL) (2).
