Install the coil springs

• Adjust the special tool 0 493 556 (31 3 341)  to dimension (A).

Dimension (A): 150 mm

• Mount the coil spring (1) with special tools 0 493 556 (31 3 341) and 2 318 833  .

• Tension the coil spring with the special tool 0 493 556 (31 3 341) to dimension (A)  .

Dimension (A) = 95 mm

Ensure that dimension  (A) is not exceeded  .

• Check the auxiliary damper (1) and spring pad (2) and replace them if necessary.

Parts:  Auxiliary damper, spring pad

• Insert the suspension strut (1) with the auxiliary damper, the protective tube and the spring pad in the tensioned coil spring (2).

• Check the spring pad (1) and replace the complete support bearing.

• Align the coil spring end (1) at the spring pad (2) to the stop.

• Mount the spring strut support bearing on the piston rod of the spring strut.

• Align the coil spring end (1) at the spring pad (2) to the stop.

• Replace nut.

Parts:  Nut

• Tighten the nut with special tool 2 360 213  , the reversible ratchet with extension, the nut SW10 and torque wrench with ring wrench insert SW21.

• Refer to FASTENING THE OUTPUT SHAFT ON THE WHEEL BEARING .
• Refer to INSTALLING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL .
