Removing complete sliding/tilting sunroof

Fold the headlining .
Damage to the headlining. If necessary, the headlining must be replaced .

- Carry out tasks with a second person to assist.
- Support the headlining at the front and back.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE BELLOWS FOR THE GLASS SLIDE/TILT SUNROOF .
- Refer to REMOVING GLASS SLIDE/TILT SUNROOF PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR SEAT BENCH .
- Refer to REMOVING LEFT AND RIGHT BACKREST SIDE SECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE INNER DOOR SILL COVER STRIP ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SEAT BELT FINISHER STRIP AT THE LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING SIDE TRIM PANEL, REAR LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to TRIM OF THE 3RD BRAKE LIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE B-PILLAR TRIM PANEL AT LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING RIGHT C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING INTERIOR ROOF LIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING LEFT AND RIGHT SUN VISORS .
- Refer to REMOVING COUNTER SUPPORTS FOR SUN VISOR ON LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT VANITY MIRROR LIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE HANDS-FREE MICROPHONE LEFT AND RIGHT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ROOF FUNCTION CENTER (FZD) .
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVERS FOR THE INTERIOR MIRROR .
- Refer to LOWERING THE HEADLINING WITH THE SLIDING/TILTING SUNROOF .
- Detach all 4 water drain hoses (1) (arrows).
- Disconnect the plug connections (2) of the engines and unclip the associated cables.
- Disconnect plug connections (3)
of the head airbags and unclip the respective cables and tie them to the side.NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Heavy component .
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage .- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Protect slide/tilt sunroof from falling together with a second person.
- Release all screws along areas (1) .
- Lower the sliding/tilting sunroof with the assistance of a second person and remove from the vehicle through the front passenger door.
