Removing the release mechanism on the front seat

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVING FRONT SEAT .
• Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT HEAD RESTRAINT .
• Refer to REMOVING GUIDE SLEEVE FOR HEADREST .
• Refer to REMOVING OUTER COVER ON FRONT SEAT .
• Refer to REMOVING INNER COVER ON FRONT SEAT .
• Refer to REMOVING THE COVER FOR THE BACKREST RELEASE .
• Refer to REMOVING REAR PANEL ON THE FRONT SEAT BACKREST .
• Refer to REMOVING THE BACKREST COVER WITH THE UPHOLSTERY FOR THE FRONT SEAT .

• Carefully release the insert (1) in the marked area (2) from the adhesive strip.
• Feed out the insert (1) from the latch mechanism (3) in direction of arrow.

• Unclip the cover (1) at the detents (2).
• Unclip the cover (1) in the marked area carefully.

• Drill out the rivet head (1).

  Standard tools: Spiral borer for steel

• Remove all rivet remnants.

• Drill out the rivet head (1).

  (Ø = 5 mm)

• Remove all rivet remnants.
• Unclip the latch mechanisms (1) from the backrest frame (3).
• Feed out the release mechanism (2) from the backrest frame (3) in direction of arrow.

• Feed out bowden cable (1) from the release mechanism (2) in direction of arrow.

• Carefully unclip the Bowden cable (1) in the arrow direction out of the connecting piece (2).
• Remove release mechanism (3).
