Replacing The Front Door

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Precondition
New part is painted.
- Pull up lock (1) and disconnect plug connection (2).
- Release the wiring harness (1) from door.
- Loosen grommet (1).
- Feed the wiring harness out of the door.

- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Secure front door against falling.
- Release screws (1) and remove the door.
- Renew the door.
Parts: Door
- Secure front door against falling.
- Position front door at the door hinges.
- Tighten down screws (1).
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
Front door to door hinge screw Tightening torque 40 Nm
- Carefully close front door.
- Check the front door for bodywork contact and, if necessary, position it again.
- Guide the wiring harness into the front door.
- Mount the nozzle (1) and check for correct fit.
- Attach wiring harness (1) to the door.
- Connect plug connection (1) and press down lock (2).
- Remount the seal (1).
- Remount the clamps (1).
- Remount the expansion nut (1).
- Remount holding clip (2).
