Installing the complete exhaust system

- Note component's center of gravity.
- Support component using a jack.
- Secure component against falling off the jack.

- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- At the catalytic converter exhaust pipe (2), use a measuring tool for centering (1) 45 mm and then mark the area with a touch-up stick (if applicable, temperature resistant).
- Clean the exhaust pipe (1) of the catalytic converter with a wire brush.
- When reinstalling the same rear silencer: Clean the exhaust pipe (1) of the rear silencer with a wire brush.
- Slide the exhaust pipe of the rear silencer onto the exhaust pipe of the catalytic converter up to the mark (1).
- If necessary, replace clamp.

Exhaust system to catalytic converter Ribbon cable clamp If necessary, replace clamp. Tightening torque 33 Nm - Check rubber mount for damage, replace if necessary.
- Tighten the screws (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Rubber mount on exhaust bracket M8 screw Tightening torque 13 Nm - Check rubber mount for damage, replace if necessary.
- Tighten down screws (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Rubber mount on exhaust bracket M8 screw Tightening torque 13 Nm - Mount the heat shields.
- Tighten down screws (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Heat shield to exhaust system Screw M6 Tightening torque 8 Nm - Tighten nuts (2).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Heat shield to exhaust system Nut M6 Tightening torque 3 Nm - Tighten down screws (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Heat shield to exhaust system Screw M6 Tightening torque 8 Nm - Tighten nuts (2).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Heat shield to exhaust system Nut M6 Tightening torque 3 Nm - Tighten nuts (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Heat shield to exhaust system Nut M6 Tightening torque 3 Nm - Tighten down screw (2).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
