Raise the front axle support and fasten it

Raise front axle support 

Do not damage the steering gear

• When lifting the front subframe, ensure sufficient distance between the steering gear (1) and the output shaft (2).
  NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
• Position the front axle support (1) to the right and left on the adapter for the front axle support (2).

• Carefully raise the front axle support with the universal jack 0 490 133 (00 2 030)  and position on the body.

  Fasten front axle support 

  Securing the front axle support adapter on the front axle support on the right and left 

  NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
• Position the adapter (1) for the front subframe (2) on the front subframe (2).
• Tighten down screws (3).

  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Adapter, front axle support to front axle support
  M8x80	Tightening torque	19 Nm

  Attaching left and right crash levers 

  NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
• Replace nut (1).

  Parts:  Nut

• Insert screw (2).
• Tighten nut (1).
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Crash lever on front subframe
  M12 Replace nut.	tightening torque	65 Nm

• Replace screws (1) to (3).

  Parts:  screw

• Tighten down screws (1).

  Front axle carrier to body, front
  M12x115 Replace screws.	Joining torque	100 Nm
  	Angle of rotation	90°

• Tighten down screws (2).
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Front axle support to center of body
  M12x90 Replace screws.	Joining torque	100 Nm
  	Angle of rotation	90°

• Tighten down screws (3).
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Front axle carrier to body, rear
  M14 Replace screws.	Joining torque	100 Nm
  	Angle of rotation	90°

• If necessary, remove the special tool (tensioning strap) 0 496 080 (33 5 206)  .
• Lower the universal jack 0 490 133 (00 2 030)  and place to one side.

• Refer to SECURING THE ANTI-ROLL BAR LINK ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT ON THE ANTI-ROLL BAR .
• Refer to FASTENING ELECTRIC COOLANT PUMP AND COOLANT HOSES TO THE FRONT AXLE SUPPORT
• Refer to IF INSTALLED: CONNECT THE VACUUM LINE OF THE ENGINE MOUNTS .
• Refer to ATTACHING THE LINE CONNECTION OF THE RIDE HEIGHT SENSOR
• Refer to SECURING THE EPS WIRING HARNESS TO THE ELECTROMECHANICAL STEERING GEAR .
• Refer to INSTALLING STEERING SHAFT AT BOTTOM ON STEERING GEAR
• Refer to INSTALLING THE COVER PANELS ON THE FRONT AXLE ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT .
• Refer to INSTALLING THE FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
• Refer to INSTALLING THE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT WHEELS .
• Refer to RECONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
