Removing and installing/replacing sport steering wheel (330i xDrive Wagon, 328d xDrive Wagon, 330i GT xDrive, 340i GT xDrive)

NOTE:
Chassis/wheel alignment is not
necessary after the steering wheel has been removed and installed or replaced.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove AIRBAG UNIT .
CAUTION:
While releasing the screw (2), counter support the steering wheel with the help of a second person in order to reduce the torque on the steering column!
Move wheels/sport steering wheel into straight-ahead position.
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Release screw (2) and remove sport steering wheel.
NOTE:
Installation note:
Only on vehicles with microencapsulated screw: Clean thread in the steering column and replace screw !
Only on vehicles with microencapsulated screw: Clean thread in the steering column and replace screw !
Tightening torque 32 33 1AZ .
Make sure connecting line(s) is/are correctly laid.
NOTE:
Installation note:
Align sport steering wheel by way of marking (1) to steering column marking (2) and attach.
Align sport steering wheel by way of marking (1) to steering column marking (2) and attach.
Replacement:
- If necessary, remount both SHIFT PADDLES .
- Remount the DESIGN COVER .
- Remount both SWITCHES on the sports steering wheel
- If applicable, remount the STEERING WHEEL MODULE .
