Removing and installing/replacing steering wheel module control unit (330i xDrive Wagon, 328d xDrive Wagon, 330i GT xDrive, 340i GT xDrive)

IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGE (ESD PROTECTION) .
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove AIRBAG UNIT .
NOTE:
Steering wheel cover is shown removed for purposes of clarity.
Remove control unit for steering wheel module (1) from steering wheel (2) in direction of arrow.
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Remove steering wheel electronics control unit (2).
Installation note:
Make sure electronic steering wheel module (2) is fitted correctly.
