Removing the wiring harness for the sensor system of cylinder bank 1

• Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1).
• Loosen the cable clip (2).

• Release wiring harness section (1) from holder (2).

• Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
• Unlock snap-in lug (3) with a commercially available screwdriver (2), and push upwards out of guide.
• Pull plug connection (4) downward.
• Unlock plug connection (4) and disconnect.

• Loosen screws (1).
• Remove the heat shield (2) downwards.

• Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) of the crankshaft sensor.

• Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) of the throttle valve of cylinder bank 1.

• Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1).
• Loosen screws (2).
• Release plug connection (3) from the wiring harness mounting.
• Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.

• Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) on the pressure sensor for intake air pressure.
• Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (2) on the Valvetronic servomotor.
• Release the wiring harness mounting (3).

• Unlock the plug connection (1) on the exhaust camshaft sensor of cylinder bank 1 and detach.
• Unlock the plug connection (2) on the intake camshaft sensor of cylinder bank 1 and detach.
• Release the wiring harness section for the Digital Motor Electronics (DME) (3).
• Release wiring harness for the sensor system of cylinder bank 2 (4).
• Loosen screw (5).
• Loosen nut (7).
• Place cable heads to one side.
• Loosen screw (6).
• Guide the alternator cable (8) out of the holder.
• Loosen screws (1).
• Detach the coolant ventilation line in the area (2) and set aside.

• Unlock the plug connection (3) of the Lambda oxygen sensor of cylinder bank 1 and disconnect.
• Unlock the plug connection (4) of the oxygen sensor monitor of cylinder bank 1 and disconnect.

• Unlock the plug connection (1) on the rail pressure sensor and disconnect.
• Release the wiring harness mountings (2).
• Unlock the plug connection (3) of the high pressure pump of cylinder bank 1 and disconnect.
• Release wiring harness for the sensor system of cylinder bank 1 from the wiring harness mounting (4).

• Unlock the plug connection (1) on the exhaust turbocharger and disconnect.
• Unlock the plug connection (2) on the alternator and disconnect.

• Unlock the plug connection (1) on the electronic coolant pump of the low-temperature coolant circuit and disconnect.
• Release the wiring harness mounting (2).

• Unlock the plug connection (1) on the VANOS solenoid actuator of the intake camshaft of cylinder bank 1 and disconnect.
• Unlock the plug connection (2) on the VANOS solenoid actuator of the exhaust camshaft of cylinder bank 1 and disconnect.
• Unlock the plug connection (3) of the tank vent line of cylinder bank 1 and disconnect.

• Unlock the plug connection (4) on the differential pressure sensor and disconnect.
• Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (5) on the temperature sensor.
• Unlock the plug connection (6) on the thermostat housing and disconnect.
• Unlock the plug connection (7) on the electronic coolant pump of the exhaust turbocharger and disconnect.
• Release the wiring harness mounting (8).
• Guide out the wiring harness for the sensor system of the cylinder bank 1 and remove it.
