Wiring harness section for the ignition system of cylinder bank 1

Feed in wiring harness section for the ignition system of the cylinder bank (2) and position.
Position ground cable (2) .
Tighten nuts (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Ground cable to hold-down device
Nuts	Tightening torque	5.5 Nm

Install ignition coils of cylinder bank 1

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the ignition coil .
The silicone hose of the ignition coil must not be contaminated by fuel as this can lead to failure of the ignition coil .

When working on the fuel system, cover the ignition coils with suitable materials and remove where required.
Do not oil or grease the silicone tube of the spark plug socket. Do not use any protection or maintenance products (e.g. silicone spray, rubber care products, rust remover, etc.).

NOTE: The description is provided only at one component. The procedure is the same for all other components.

Version without RDE2:

Blow out the spark plug shafts (2) before the installation of the ignition coils with an air gun (1) .

Version with RDE2:

Check all connectors (1) on the injectors again to ensure they are correctly fitted.

Check if all connectors (1) have locked noticeably.

Feed in the ignition coils (2) and install them.

Tighten down screws (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

screw	Tightening torque	8 Nm

Feed in and install the cable clip (2) .

Tighten down screws (1) .

Connect and lock connectors (arrows).

The connectors (arrows) must audibly engage.

Version with RDE2:

Position the expansion tank (1) for the charge air cooler.

Tighten down screw (2) .

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Low-temperature coolant circuit expansion tank
Tightening torque	screw	2.6 Nm

- Position the cover of the master DME control unit (1)
- Engage the cover panel of the master DME control unit (1) downwards with the clamps (2) and the guide pins (3) in the carrier plate of the DME.
Refer to CONNECTING BATTERY GROUND LEAD .
