Removing the excitation cable

WARNING: High-voltage system.

Failure to comply with the oil specifications can result in serious damage to the electric machine transmission.

After completion of repair work, check the transmission oil level in the electric machine transmission.
Only use approved transmission oil for the electric machine transmission.

After disconnecting, seal the high-voltage connector with the cover caps from the set of special tools 5A4A589.

The radial shaft seal in the electric machine transmission must be replaced each time the output shaft is removed!

During work on the rear brake, it must be ensured that the button for the electromechanical parking brake cannot be pressed.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
With the ignition off and the high-voltage safety plug disconnected, the Check Control message "High voltage system faulty" is displayed by default.
The message "High-voltage system switched off" (absence of voltage) is only displayed when the ignition is switched on.

Removing the busbar

Loosen screws (1) .
Remove the shield plate (2) .

Lay the Y-line (2) to one side.

Removing the lid from the brush module

Loosen screws (1) .

Lift lid (1) at the positions marked with an arrow using a large screwdriver.
Remove the lid (1) .
If the inside of the lid to be reinstalled (1) and the brush compartment are dirty, clean these areas with the brake cleaner before installing new parts.
