Removing Trunk Lid (On Replacement)

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVE THE POWER TAILGATE SWITCH .
• Refer to REMOVING TRUNK COMPARTMENT LIGHT ON TRUNK LID .
• Refer to PARTIAL REMOVAL OF THE TRIM PANEL FOR THE TAILGATE HINGE ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVE TAILGATE TRIM PANEL .
• Refer to REMOVING THE WATER SUPPLY AT THE TAIL LIGHT ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING TAIL LIGHT ON TAILGATE AT LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING THE TRUNK LID HANDLE .
• Refer to REMOVING THE MULTIBAND TELEPHONE ANTENNA .
• Refer to REMOVING THE REAR EMBLEM .
• Refer to REMOVE STRIKER FOR THE TAILGATE LATCH .

If installed: Removing buzzer 

• Push the detents (1) together and remove the buzzer (2).
• Disconnect the associated plug connection and remove the buzzer (2).

  NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
• Release rubber grommet (1) and feed out the wiring harness (2) inwards from the trunk lid.

• Unlock all plug connections and disconnect.
• Release the vehicle wiring harness (1) and (2) with all holders (arrows) and place to one side,

  NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
• Release all the screws (1) and carefully remove the tailgate (2) with the help of a support person.
