Replace upper front wishbone
Special tools required:
- 2 412 505
- 33 5 013
- 33 5 014
- 33 5 015
- 2 412 506
- 335016
- 33 5 020
- 33 5 017
- 2 358 630
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove REAR WHEEL .
Removal:
Slacken nut (4).
Slacken nut (2).
Remove screw (3).
Remove wishbone (1).
Installation:
Position wishbone (1).
Part : Replace screw (3) and nut (2).
Insert bolt (3).
Screw on the nut (2).
- Do not tighten screw connection to torque yet.
Part : Replace nut (4).
Tighten nut (4).
Tightening torque 33 32 6AZ .
Insert lower spring cup 2 412 505 centrally into coil spring and turn to lowest winding.
Guide spindle 33 5 013, 33 5 014, 33 5 015 from below through the camber link and the lower spring cup 2 412 505.
Insert top spring cup 2 412 506 sideways into coil spring and turn to the uppermost winding.
Attention!
Make sure spindle (hexagonal) is correctly seated in upper spring cup 2 412 506!
Pull spindle 33 5 013 down.
Make sure coil spring is correctly positioned in spring cups.
Attention!
Center special tools 2 412 505, 2 412 506, 33 5 013, 33 5 014, 33 5 015 to achieve the greatest possible contact surface with the coil spring.
Check installation position of special tools 2 412 505, 2 412 506, and 33 5 013, 33 5 014, 33 5 015 , correct if necessary.
Tighten coil spring using special tools 33 5 016 and 33 5 020, gripping the spindle of the spring tensioner with special tool 33 5 017.
Tension the coil spring so that the normal position can be set by lifting the wheel carrier.
Secure special tool 2 358 630 with wheel studs to drive flange.
Insert the workshop jack into the special tool 2 358 630.
Adjusting normal position:
Push wheel carrier up to dimension A with workshop jack and special tool 2 358 630.
Dimension A = middle of wheel hub to upper edge of wheel arch
Dimension A - F80 = 343 mm Dimension A - F82, F83 = 363 mm
Tighten nut (2).
Tightening torque 33 32 5AZ .
Lower the universal jack and put it away.
Remove special tool 2 358 630.
Check fitting of coil springs in spring pads (top and bottom), if necessary again align and relieve tension.
Remove special tools 2 412 505, 2 412 506, 33 5 013, 33 5 014, and 33 5 015.
Required follow-up work:
- Install REAR WHEEL .
- Carry out wheel alignment procedure. Refer to CARRY OUT KINEMATICS DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM WHEEL ALIGNMENT WITH VEHICLE LOAD UP TO DESIGN POSITION or KINEMATICS DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM WHEEL ALIGNMENT WITH RIDE HEIGHT MEASUREMENT WITHOUT LOADING THE VEHICLE .
