It is imperative to protect the anti-roll bar from damage using a cloth (2).
Insert the screw (3).
Replace nuts (3) and (5).
Parts : Nuts
Screw on nuts (3) by a few turns.
- Do not tighten screw connection to specified torque yet!
Tighten nuts (5).
Tightening torque 33 32 6AZ .
Mount cable clip (4) on upper wishbone (1).
Insert lower spring cup 2 412 505 centrally into coil spring and turn to lowest winding.
Guide spindle 33 5 013, 33 5 014, 33 5 015 from below through the camber link and the lower spring cup 2 412 505.
Insert top spring cup 2 412 506 sideways into coil spring and turn to the uppermost winding.
Pull spindle 33 5 013 down.
Make sure coil spring is correctly positioned in spring cups.
Check installation position of special tools 2 412 505, 2 412 506, and 33 5 013, 33 5 014, 33 5 015, correct if necessary.
Tighten coil spring using special tools 33 5 016 and 33 5 020, gripping the spindle of the spring tensioner with special tool 33 5 017.
Tension the coil spring so that the normal position can be set by lifting the wheel carrier.
Secure special tool 2 358 630 with wheel studs to drive flange.
Insert the universal jack in the special tool 2 358 630.
Adjusting normal position:
Attention:
To raise the wheel carrier, the spring absolutely must be tensioned. Do not move the wheel carrier to normal position against the spring force.
Push wheel carrier up to dimension A with workshop jack and special tool 2 358 630.
Dimension A = middle of wheel hub to upper edge of wheel arch
Dimension A - F80 = 343 mm
Dimension A - F82, F83 = 363 mm
Dimension A - F87, F87 Competition US = 359 mm
Dimension A - F87 Competition (non-US) = 351 mm
Tighten screw (2). In doing so, counter support at the nut (3).
Tightening torque 33 32 5AZ .
Lower the workshop jack and set it aside.
Remove special tool 2 358 630.
Check fitting of coil springs in spring pads (top and bottom), if necessary again align and relieve tension.
Remove special tools 2 412 505, 2 412 506, and 33 5 013, 33 5 014, 33 5 015.
Required follow-up work:
- Install REAR WHEEL .
- Carry out wheel alignment procedure. Refer to CARRY OUT KINEMATICS DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM WHEEL ALIGNMENT WITH VEHICLE LOAD UP TO DESIGN POSITION or KINEMATICS DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM WHEEL ALIGNMENT WITH RIDE HEIGHT MEASUREMENT WITHOUT LOADING THE VEHICLE .
