Replacing pulse sensor for high pressure pump drive (S55 engine)

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Removal:

Disconnect plug (2).

Release screws (1).

Release expansion tank (3) upwards out of rubber mount and place aside.

Unlock and release line (1).

Release line from clamp (3).

Release tank vent valve from holder (2).

Unlock and disconnect plugs (1).

Release screw (2) and remove pulse sensor (3).

Installation note:

Replace sealing ring (1) of pulse sensor for high pressure pump drive and coat with engine oil.

Installation:

Install pulse sensor (3).

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 13 62 9AZ .

Attach and lock connector (1).

Connector (1) must snap audibly into place.

Secure tank vent valve to holder (2).

Attach line to clamp (3).

Connect and lock line (1).

Line (1) must audibly engage.

Insert expansion tank (3) in rubber mount.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 17 10 5AZ .

Connect connector (2) and lock.

Connector (2) must snap audibly into place.
