Removing and installing/replacing oil temperature sensor (S55 engine)

Carry out this repair only when the engine has cooled down.

Recycling: 

Catch and dispose of emerging engine oil.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Attention! 

Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove THROTTLE VALVE ASSEMBLY .

Removal: 

Unlock connector (1) and pull off.

Release and remove oil temperature sensor (2).

Preparation for installation: 

Check sealing ring of oil temperature sensor, replace if necessary.

Installation:

Install and tighten oil temperature sensor (2).

Tightening torque 13 62 7AZ .

Attach and lock connector (1).

Connector (1) must engage audibly.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install THROTTLE BODY .
• Check engine oil level; top up the engine oil if necessary.
