Replacing fuel low-pressure sensor (S55 engine)
Special tools required:
- 32 1 270
Electric fuel pump starts up automatically each time door is opened!
Carry out installation work on fuel system only with coolant temperature below 40°C.
Wear safety goggles.
Attention!
Adhere to conditions of absolute cleanliness when carrying out repairs on the high-pressure fuel system.
Introduced contaminants can cause malfunctions in the system!
- Do not allow any dirt particles or foreign bodies to get into the system.
- Remove all traces of contamination before removing lines or separate components.
- Use only lint-free cloths.
- Seal all fuel system openings with protective caps or plugs.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove THROTTLE BODY .
Recycling:
Fuel escapes when fuel lines are detached.
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel in a suitable container.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Removal:
Release screws (1) under cable channel.
Unlock connector (1) and pull off.
Release fuel low-pressure sensor (2) and remove.
Attention!
When releasing and tightening the sensor, brace against the AF of the low pressure line!
Installation note:
Check sealing ring of fuel low-pressure sensor and replace as necessary.
Installation:
Install fuel low-pressure sensor (2) and tighten. Tightening torque: 13 53 5AZ .
Attach and lock connector (1).
Connector (1) must engage audibly.
Tighten screws (1) under cable channel. Tightening torque 13 62 6AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Install THROTTLE BODY .
Assemble engine.
Check fuel system for leak tightness. Check function of DME.
