Replacing the auxiliary coolant pump for charge air cooler (low pressure) (S55 engine)
Only perform this repair work on an engine that has cooled down.
Attention!
Wear safety goggles and protective gloves.
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping coolant in a suitable container.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Drain and top up COOLANT FOR LOW-TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT .
Removal:
Unscrew screw (1) and screw (2).
Release electrical pump (2) from the bracket.
Unlock connector (1) and pull off.
Unlock and detach hoses (2).
Remove electrical pump (3) in a downwards direction.
Installation:
Installation note:
Clean the electrical plug connection with compressed air and spray with contact spray 6.2 .
Install the electrical pump (3).
Connect and lock hoses (2).
Hoses (2) must audibly engage.
Attach and lock connector (1).
Connector (1) must engage audibly.
Tighten screw (1) and screw (2).
Tightening torque 17 10 3AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Bleed and fill the COOLANT CIRCUIT (LOW-TEMPERATURE COOLING SYSTEM) using a vacuum filler device.
