Removing and installing/replacing corrosion protection cover (S55 engine)

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove SOUND INSULATION OF BULKHEAD UPPER SECTION, CENTER .
• Remove both charge-air ducts. Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CHARGE AIR DUCT OF CYLINDER 4-6  and REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING THE CHARGE AIR DUCT FOR CYLINDERS 1-3 .

Removal: 

Release clamps (2) from corrosion protection cover (1).

Pull corrosion protection cover (1) off upwards and remove.

Installation: 

Install corrosion protection cover (1).

Corrosion protection cover (1) must engage in rubber mounts.

Fasten clamps (2) on corrosion protection cover.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install both charge air ducts. Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CHARGE AIR DUCT OF CYLINDER 4-6  and REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING THE CHARGE AIR DUCT FOR CYLINDERS 1-3 .
• Install SOUND INSULATION ON BULKHEAD UPPER PART, CENTER .
