11 12 000 Removing and installing/sealing cylinder head cover (PHEV)
- Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for working with electric vehicles.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect GND line.
- Remove top engine compartment PARTITION WALL .
- Remove right TENSION STRUT .
- Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
- Remove VACUUM PUMP .
- Undo engine wiring harness in the area of the cylinder head cover. See REMOVING WIRING HARNESS FOR ENGINE SENSOR SYSTEM MODULE 1 , REPLACING WIRING HARNESS SECTION FOR VALVETRONIC SERVOMOTOR , and REPLACING WIRING HARNESS SECTION FOR IGNITION AND INJECTORS .
- Remove ENGINE VENTILATION LINE .
- Remove BOTH ACTUATORS .
- Remove and install RAIL .
- Remove FEED LINE .
- Remove HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
Removal:
Unclip oxygen sensor connector (1) from holder and disconnect plug connection.
Release screws (1).
Remove flange (2).
Unfasten engine wiring harness (1) at cylinder head cover.
Unfasten engine wiring harness (1) at cylinder head cover.
Unscrew cable channel (2) from the cylinder head cover.
Unclip the cable channel (3) from the cylinder head cover.
Loosen screws of cylinder head cover from outside inwards in 1/2 turns.
Remove cylinder head cover.
Installation:
Parts: Gaskets.
Replace all gaskets.
Clean sealing surfaces at the contact surfaces of the cylinder head and the spark plug channels.
Installation note:
Pay attention to centering pin (1) when mounting cylinder head cover.
Fit cylinder head cover.
Insert screws of the cylinder head cover by 1/2 turn.
Tighten the cylinder head cover screws in sequence (1 to 20).
Tightening torque: 11 12 4AZ .
Clip in the cable channel (3) to the cylinder head cover.
Secure cable channel (2) to the cylinder head cover.
Secure engine wiring harness (1) to the cylinder head cover.
Secure engine wiring harness (1) to the cylinder head cover.
Install flange (2).
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque: 11 12 9AZ .
Insert plug connection and clip in oxygen sensor connector (1) in holder.
