51 16 001 Removing and installing/replacing exterior mirror (on left or right)
Special tools required:
Driver's side only:
Lift trim (1) by pressing on area (A) and remove.
Release screw below it.
Tightening torque 51 41 1AZ .
Front passenger side only:
Remove COVER ON DOOR HANDLE .
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 41 1AZ .
Detach trim (1) from door trim panel (2) using special tool 00 9 327 .
Unlock associated plug connection and disconnect.
Remove cover (1) with switch for central locking system.
Release screw below it.
Tightening torque 51 41 1AZ .
Detach door trim panel at clips (1) and fasteners (2).
Detach door window frame cover (3) at clip (4) and partially maneuver out.
Installation note:
Make sure door window frame (3) is correctly seated.
Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Press window guide seal (2) to one side and undo screws (3).
Tightening torque 51 16 1AZ .
Installation note:
Make sure grommet for plug connection (1) is correctly seated
Replacement:
Due to self-tapping screws, the tightening torque of the new rear-view mirror increases by 2 Nm.
Remove mirror (1) outwards.
Installation note:
Run a function check.
Installation note:
Sound insulation (1) must not be damaged.
Replacement:
- Remount MIRROR GLASS
- Swap over PROTECTIVE CAP ON EXTERIOR MIRROR
