Removing and installing support for dashboard (X5 M)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM .
• Remove HEAD-UP DISPLAY .
• Remove STEERING COLUMN .

Release screws (1).

Remove air duct (2).

Installation note: 

Ensure that air duct (2) is correctly seated on the heater/air conditioner unit.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque 51 45 2AZ .

Release screw (2).

Tightening torque 51 45 1AZ .

Unfasten plug connection (3) and disconnect.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 45 8AZ .

Release cable retainer for wiring loom (2) and feed out wiring loom (2).

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 45 3AZ .

Release cable retainer for wiring loom (2) and feed out wiring loom (2).

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque 51 45 2AZ .

Unfasten screws (2).

Release cable retainer (3) and thread out relevant wiring loom.

With the aid of a second person, remove the mounting bracket while checking for any more cable retainers.
