51 44 013 Removing and installing/replacing headlining (with glass sunroof)

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Removal:

Remove edge protection (1) inwards.

Fold open hook (1).

Release the bolt (2) and remove the coat hook (3).

IMPORTANT: The following tasks must be carried out with a second person assisting:

Release the expanding rivet (1).

Release screws (2).

Unclip headlining (3) from rear clips.

Carefully place headlining down on instrument panel and front seats.

Complete removal only:

Carefully remove headlining through windscreen frame.

Replacement only:

Installation:

IMPORTANT: The following tasks must be carried out with a second person assisting:

Carefully thread headlining (3) into edge protection.

Clip headlining (3) into rear clips.

Mount expanding rivets (1).

Tighten screws (2).

Install the coat hook (3) and tighten the screw (2).

Fold hook (1) closed.

Mount the edge protection (1).
