63 12 010 Removing and installing (replacing) left (Xenon) headlight

WARNING: Version with xenon lighting system:
Danger to life due to high voltage! Therefore disconnect all components from voltage supply before removal.
Work on the entire xenon lighting system (ignition device, control unit and bulb) may only be carried out by qualified personnel.

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove FRONT BUMPER PANEL

NOTE: If the retaining clip (2) is present, the central connector on the headlight cannot be disconnected!

Release screw (1) and remove retaining clip (2) if necessary.

Unlock and remove cover (1).

NOTE: Work shown on the F30 by way of example, deviations in detail are possible in other models.

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unfasten screws (2).

Tightening torque: 63 12 1AZ .

Release screw (3).

Tightening torque: 63 12 1AZ .

Carefully remove headlight (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

Correctly install headlight (1) relative to holder (2).

ADJUST HEADLIGHT .

Installation note:

Rubber plugs (1) in engine compartment lid (2) must not be missing or damaged.

No cavity preservation may emerge from the rubber plugs (1).

Replacement:

US version : CHECKING BLOCKING AT HORIZONTAL POSITION
Remount xenon control unit. Refer to 63 12 860 REPLACING CONTROL UNIT FOR LEFT XENON HEADLIGHT or 63 12 861 REPLACING CONTROL UNIT FOR RIGHT XENON HEADLIGHT .
Remount ignition device with bulb. Refer to 63 12 870 REPLACING IGNITION UNIT FOR LEFT XENON HEADLIGHT or 63 12 871 REPLACING RIGHT IGNITION UNIT FOR RIGHT XENON HEADLIGHT .
Remount HEADLIGHT DRIVER MODULE
Remount LED MODULE FOR DAYTIME DRIVING LIGHTS
