Replacing cover for sports steering wheel (X2 2018-2023)

Necessary preliminary work:

Refer to REMOVING AIRBAG UNIT .
If necessary, remove both shift paddles for automatic transmission. Refer to REMOVING SHIFT PADDLE FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION .
Remove both multifunction steering wheel switches. Refer to.REMOVING THE STEERING COLUMN SWITCH CLUSTER (SZL) .

Removal:

Release screw (1) at design trim (2).

Unclip design trim (2) carefully upwards and remove.

Installation:

NOTE: The retaining lug at the design trim (1) may not be damaged or missing.

Carefully clip in design trim (2) and tighten with screw (1).

Required reworking:

Install both multifunction steering wheel switches. Refer to INSTALLING THE STEERING COLUMN SWITCH CLUSTER (SZL) .
If necessary, install both shift paddles. Refer to INSTALLING THE SHIFT PADDLE FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Refer to INSTALLING AIRBAG UNIT .
