Installing the steering wheel/sports steering wheel

Check the neutral position of the clock spring
- Ensure that the coil spring is not twisted.
There are clock springs installed without a mechanical anti-twist lock.
Coil springs without a mechanical anti-twist lock are identifiable on the inspection glass for the neutral position mark.
- Check the neutral position of the clock spring on the steering column switch cluster (SZL).
The neutral position is correct if the yellow or green mark (1) is clearly visible.
Check
- Check the mark (1) in the inspection glass.
Result
» The mark (1) is not visible.
Measure
- Turn the coil spring until mark (1) is visible in the inspection glass.
Check
- A micro-encapsulated screw (1) may be fitted.
- Checked threaded connection
Result
» Screw (1) is micro-encapsulated.
Measure
- Clean thread in the steering column.
Replace the screw (1).
Parts: Screw
- Align and connect the steering wheel/sports steering wheel according to the mark (1) with the steering column mark (2).
- Tighten down screw (1).

- Connect connectors and lock .
Make sure connecting lines are correctly routed.
Follow-up work
