51 12 157 Replace rear bumper panel

Attention! 

To ensure the system function in vehicles with sensor for lane change warning (optional equipment S5ASA and S5ATA), do not repaint the bumper panel in paint stage 1 or paint stage 3.

Do not attach labels in the sampling range of the sensor.

Follow the further instructions according to painting manual.

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove the BUMPER PANEL 
• Remount the cover for the towing eye
• If necessary, punch holes for ULTRASONIC SENSORS 
• If necessary, install holder for ULTRASONIC SENSORS 
• Remount the REAR REFLECTORS

Only F80/F82: 

• Remount the cover on the rear bumper trim panel.
• Remount the non-contact tailgate opening.

Execution with PDC: 

Unlock retaining tabs (1) in direction of arrow and pull ultrasonic sensor (2) up and out of bracket (3).

Installation note: 

Before installing the ultrasonic sensor (2), clean the plug connections.

Retaining tabs (1) must not be damaged!

Loosen clamps (1).

Release the air duct (2) at latch mechanisms (3) and remove.
