11 14 311 Removing and installing/replacing front engine encapsulation (B48B)

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Remove ACOUSTIC COVER AT FRONT 
• Remove AUXILIARY COOLANT PUMP 

Removal: 

Release screw (1).

Remove oil feed line (2).

Unlock and remove engine wiring harness (1) in the marked areas.

Unlock and disconnect connector (1).

Release expanding rivet (2).

Unlock connector (1) and pull off of exhaust turbocharger.

Unlock connector (2) from heating element and disconnect.

Unlock connector (3) and pull off from the heat management module.

Carefully pull the engine wiring harness forwards.

Simultaneously feed out engine encapsulation (2) upwards.

Installation: 

Check engine encapsulation (1) for damage.

Replace faulty engine encapsulation (1).

Carefully pull the engine wiring harness (1) forwards.

Simultaneously feed in engine encapsulation (2) from the top.

Connect connector (3) to the heat management module.

Connect connector (2) to the heating element.

Connect connector (1) to exhaust turbocharger.

Fasten the engine encapsulation using expanding rivet (2).

Connect the connector (1).

Clip in engine wiring harness (1) in marked areas.

Parts:  Replace O-ring.

Position oil feed line (2).

Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque 11 42 4AZ .

Required follow-up work: 

• Install AUXILIARY COOLANT PUMP 
• Install ACOUSTIC COVER AT FRONT
