Removing and installing/replacing front carpet for passenger compartment
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Clamp off battery lead from negative connection point
- Remove CENTER CONSOLE .
- Remove Footwell Side trip panel on A-Pillar on front left/right. Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SIDE TRIM PANEL, FOOTWELL, ON A-PILLAR, LEFT or REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SIDE TRIM PANEL, FOOTWELL, ON A-PILLAR, RIGHT .
- Remove Both Front Seats. Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE (NORMAL/MANUAL) , REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FROM LEFT OR RIGHT , REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE, (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) or REMOVING AND INSTALLING THE FRONT SEAT ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE (NORMAL/MANUAL) .
- Remove COMPLETE ACCELERATOR PEDAL MODULE .
- Remove left or right COVER FOR CENTRAL BASS SPEAKER .
IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage!
Pay attention to cables when cutting.
Start cuts towards center of vehicle as far as is possible. This guarantees that cutting edges are covered by storage compartment and/or dashboard.
Cut out the carpet along the lines (1), including on the right side.
Remove carpet towards rear/top and if necessary feed out cable.
Installation note:
Apertures (1) serve as fixing points for fitting carpet.
Replacement:
Lay removed carpet over new one and transfer cuts to new carpet.
