Preliminary work

Refer to UNINSTALLING COVER FOR THE DME CONTROL UNIT

Remove the support for the underbody protection

Remove screws (arrows).

Remove the support (1).

Drain the engine oil (remove the full-flow oil filter). Refer to ENGINE OIL SERVICE .

Remove the sound insulation on the bulkhead upper part at the center
Refer to REMOVING ACOUSTIC COVER AT REAR
Refer to REMOVING TANK VENT VALVE
Unlock and disconnect connector (1). Loosen screws (2). Remove charge air line from throttle body and place to one side.

Follow-up work

Refer to INSTALLING TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER
Install the protective plate for the fuel lines
Tighten the oil drain plug to 25 Nm.
NOTE: Replace the sealing ring.
Tighten the oil filter cover as needed
Top up the engine oil
Refer to INSTALLING THE INTAKE PLENUM
Fasten charge air line to the throttle body
Refer to INSTALLING THE TANK VENT VALVE
Refer to INSTALLING ACOUSTIC COVER AT REAR
Install the sound insulation on the bulkhead upper part at the center
Install tension strut on spring strut dome. Jointing torque: 56 Nm, angle of rotation: 90°
NOTE: Replace screws.

Install cover for the DME control unit
Refer to CONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS

Refer to BLEEDING THE HIGH-TEMPERATURE COOLANT SYSTEM
Check engine oil level
Vehicles with automatic transmission: Refer to REMOVING THE REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION
Check transmission oil level and TOP-UP OIL as necessary.
Install the support for the underbody protection. Tightening torque: 3Nm.
Vehicles with automatic transmission: Install the rear underbody protection
Install the front underbody protection
