37 12 1090 Removing and installing rear left or right spring strut (M5) (W/Electronic Damper Control)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release expanding rivet (1).

Disconnect cable connection/connector (2) from EDC damper.

Pull storage shelf (3) outward slightly to be able to pull out the EDC damper cable more easily.

Fold sound insulation (1) aside to reach the screws.

Release screws (2) with ratchet, extension#, 7° flexible spanner head and size 13 hexagon spanner head.

Installation note: 

Replace nuts.

Tightening torque 33 52 1AZ .

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 33 52 3AZ .

Remove spring strut from wheel carrier.

Installation note: 

Replace screw.

Press wheel carrier (1) down.

First move spring strut (2) down slightly in direction of arrow in front of output shaft. Then, at top of wheel arch, swing down spring strut and remove.

IMPORTANT: Before tightening screw connection, check that spring strut shock absorber pin is correctly positioned in wheel carrier.
