52 14 032 Removing and installing/replacing backrest frame for left or right front passenger seat

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove FRONT PASSENGER SEAT
Partially remove BACKREST COVER for front seat

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, the following operations are shown with the backrest cover removed.

Detach clips (2).

Installation note:

Replace faulty clips (2).

Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect.

Detach wiring harness clamps from backrest frame.

Feed wiring harness out of backrest frame.

Unclip left and right clips (1).

Unhook seat covers (2) on left and right.

Release left and right screws (3).

Tightening torque 52 10 2AZ .

Remove backrest frame.

Replacement only:

If necessary, remove LUMBAR CUSHION with DRIVE and VALVE BLOCK .
Remove SIDE AIRBAG
Remove complete BACKREST COVER
Remove CARRIER PLATE FOR REAR PASSENGER COMPARTMENT ENTERTAINMENT

NOTE: The new backrest frame part contains all the drives.

Version with rear passenger compartment monitor (RSE) only:

Blind rivet threaded pins for carrier plate must be reset.

Attach blind rivet thread pins with ZS 308 rivet gun (see BMW Workshop Equipment).
