51 44 002 Removing and installing/replacing roofliner (without panorama glass roof)

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Version with dividing net mounts:

Remove all dividing net mounts (3).

Open protective cap (1).

Release screw (2) and remove dividing net mounts (3).

Installation:

Observe position indications on reverse side of dividing net mounts (1).

Feed out rubber grommet (1) from inside mirror wiring harness.

Unclip roofliner (2) at rear (1).

Fold down rear seat backrests, then move backrest of front seats to maximum rear position.

Detach mucket from rear lid and all doors in roofliner area.

IMPORTANT: Do not jolt roofliner edges during removal.
The following tasks must be carried out with a second person assisting:

Fold away roofliner (2) towards bottom right and remove through rear lid opening.

Installation:

Following parts of headliner (3) must not be damaged or missing:

Installation sequence:

Replacement:

Version with dividing net mounts only:

Cut out premarked openings (1) on left and right with a scalpel.

IMPORTANT: Ensure a clean cut so that the headliner material is not damaged on the inside.
