51 16 366 Removing and installing/replacing right glove box with housing

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM AT BOTTOM RIGHT
Remove TRIM ON INSTRUMENT PANEL ON RIGHT

Remove screws (1) from the glove compartment enclosure (2).

Tightening torque 51 16 18AZ .

Installation note:

Observe tightening sequence. The installation position of the longer bolt (4.2 x 25) is marked with a circle.

Slightly lower the glove compartment enclosure (2) and disconnect plug connection from the glove box light.

Remove the glove compartment housing (2).

Installation note:

Properly adjust the glove compartment enclosure (2).

Replacement

Remount GLOVE BOX LIGHT .

US version: Install new LOCK BARREL .

If the replacement fuse assignment chart (included in deliveries with new glove boxes) does not match the vehicle's original fuse assignment chart, then:

the original fuse assignment chart must be used.
The replacement fuse assignment chart must be disposed of.
