51 16... Removing and installing/replacing holder, rear left/right grab handle

WARNING: Follow SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for working on vehicles with airbag systems (risk of injury).

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage! Do not use sharp tools in the area of the head airbag.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove headlining. See REMOVING ROOFLINER (WITHOUT PANORAMA GLASS ROOF) or REMOVING ROOFLINER (WITH PANORAMA GLASS ROOF) .

Only for complete dismantling:

Remove BRACKET FOR FOLDING PACK HEAD AIRBAG

NOTE: Illustration shows holder with front fixture for load area net.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 16 19AZ .

If necessary, detach retaining tabs of wiring harness.

IMPORTANT: If holder for grab handle, rear, (2) is only lowered, secure holder for grab handle to prevent "sag" in order to ensure that folding pack head airbag is not damaged.

Installation note:

Only with optional equipment load area net:

Correctly introduce latching tab at front fixture for separating net (1) into recess in body.
