51 16... Removing and installing/renewing front left or right grab handle holder

WARNING: Follow SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for working on vehicles with airbag systems (risk of injury).

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage! Do not use sharp tools in the area of the head airbag.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove headlining. See REMOVING ROOFLINER (WITHOUT PANORAMA GLASS ROOF) or REMOVING ROOFLINER (WITH PANORAMA GLASS ROOF) .

Only in the event of complete dismantling:

Detach BRACKET FOR HEAD AIRBAG FOLDING PACK

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 51 16 19AZ .

A = Bracket for head airbag folding pack

Feed retaining bracket (1) out of front grab handle holder (2) towards the rear.

IMPORTANT: If the grab handle holder (2) has only been lowered, secure grab handle holder to prevent "sagging" so that the head airbag folding pack is not damaged.

Installation note:

Feed retaining bracket (1) back in again correctly.
