51 11 156 Removing and installing (replacing) front bumper panel

Special tools required:

Release screws (1) on bumper panel (2).

Tightening torque 51 11 1AZ .

Lift bumper panel (2) over guide (3).

If necessary, release gasket (4) on bumper panel (2).

Release screws (1) on wheel arch cover (2) on left/right.

Lift out wheel arch cover (2) at side.

Installation note:

Make sure wheel arch cover (2) is in correct position.

Release screws (1) on bumper panel (2).

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Do not damage bumper panel when pulling off.

Slide special tool 00 9 317 between bumper panel (1) and holder (2).

Release latch mechanisms in area (3) and lever out bumper panel (1) in an outward direction.

Pull bumper panel (1) forwards a little.

If necessary, disconnect plug connections on ultrasonic sensors and/or front fog lights.

If necessary, unlock and detach hose pipe for headlight cleaning system.

Remove bumper panel (1) towards front with the aid of a second person.

Installation note:

Latch mechanisms (2) of bumper panel (1) must not be damaged.

If necessary, carry out a height adjustment, refer to BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .
