51 11 050 Removing and installing/replacing support for front bumper panel

Necessary preliminary tasks:

NOTE: Description is shown on the E82 by way of example. There may be differences in detail in the case of other models.

IMPORTANT: During replacement, all the cavities of the support (1) and the crashbox (2) must be sealed with CAVITY SEALING .

Version with brake compensating air guide:

Loosen the screw (1) on the cooling air routing (2) left/right.

Remove the cooling air routing (2).

NOTE: The work scope ends here:
"Remove and install compensating air guide".

Depending on version:

Release screws (1) on support (2).

Remove left/right impact absorber (3).

Release washer fluid hose (4) from support (2).

If necessary, disconnect plug connections (1) from fanfare.

Loosen blind rivet (2) on left/right.

Release nuts (3) on left/right.

Tightening torque 51 11 2AZ .

Remove fanfare with holder (4).

Remove carrier (5).

Installation note:

Blind rivets (2) are only required for assembly at the plant and do not need to be reinstalled.
