41 62 014 Adjusting Rear Lid: Notes

Observe 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS

The rear lid must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.

Version with automatic rear lid actuation: 

Disable automatic tailgate actuation:

Separate connector at CONTROL UNIT for automatic tailgate actuation.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove water gutter trim. See REAR MIDDLE WATER GUTTER TRIM and REAR LEFT/RIGHT WATER GUTTER TRIM
• Remove TRIM FOR REAR WINDOW FRAME .

Slacken screws (1) on rear lid hinge to rear lid until such stage that rear lid can still be moved.

Tightening torque: 18.5 Nm

Adjust rear lid laterally and longitudinally.

When the rear lid is closed, the lock striker must not touch or scrape against the rear lid lock.

Height adjustment of rear lid to roof:

Slacken screws (2) and adjust rear lid.

Tightening torque: 18.5 Nm

Check read lid wedge (1) on left and right for damage, replace if necessary.

Check rear lid stop (1) on body on left and right for damage, replace if necessary.

If necessary, adjust rear lid stop (1) to wedge.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Remove CAPPING

Slacken screws (2)

Slacken nuts (3).

Tightening torque: see 9AZ  in 41 62 REAR LID .

Adjusting height of rear lid in relation to side panel:

Remove rubber grommet (1).

Adjust stop (2) by turning screw underneath.
