51 71 387 Removing and installing/replacing rear water gutter trim (rear lid) on left or right

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear lid gas-filled struts, see 51 24 300 Removing and installing or replacing left or right gas strut for rear lid .
- If necessary, remove electric spindle drive for rear lid, see 51 24 400 Removing and installing/replacing electric spindle drive for rear lid on left or right .
WARNING:
Risk of injury!
Support rear lid in fully opened position with suitable apparatus.
Support rear lid in fully opened position with suitable apparatus.
NOTE:
The operation is described on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.
Detach mucket (1) along water gutter (2).
Release clips - short (3) and long (4).
Release expansion rivet (5).
IMPORTANT:
If clip mountings are removed during further operations (e.g. painting), always replace these mounting to ensure watertightness.
