52 13 400 Replacing cover for left or right front seat

Special Tools Required: 

WARNING: US/CND front passenger seat (with OC3 mat) only:
Seat cover must not be separated from padding.
All parts must be replaced completely and released with the diagnosis system in event of defective seat cover, seat heating, OC3 mat or padding.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release screws (1).

Remove carrier (2).

Detach seat cover (1).

Unhook seat cover (1) in area (2).

Remove seat cover (1).

If necessary, disconnect plug connections for seat occupancy and/or seat heating.

US/CND front passenger seat (with OC3 mat) only: 

New seat cover must be completely installed with padding, seat heating and OC3 mat.

Release seat occupancy detector: 

The operation "Replacing seat cover for front seat" ends here for the above-mentioned vehicles.

Detach all retainers in areas (1).

Release all retainers.

Installation: 

Bend new retainers closed with pliers 52 0 050.

Remove seat cover (1).

Remove remaining clips from seat cover and/or padding.

Pull trim threads (1) out of seat cover.

Installation: 

Push trim threads (1) into seat cover. If necessary, cut mounting for trim threads.
