52 14... Additional work in event of faulty drive/gearing for longitudinal seat adjustment

Set seat tilt adjustment to max. up setting.

Release screw (1) on servodrive (2) for longitudinal seat adjustment.

Release screw (1) and remove servodrive (2).

Activate the operating switch for the seat position adjustment:

  1. No function: 
    • Pull off the connector for the seat position adjustment.
    • Connect new servodrive and check function.
    • Gearing is OK if servodrive is running.
    • Assemble front seat.
  2. Servodrive running: 
    • Gearing for longitudinal seat adjustment defective!

Removing faulty gearing (1) for longitudinal seat adjustment: 

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, the backrest frame and seat cover are shown removed.
  1. (2) Input shaft
  2. (3) Internal gearing

With pneumatic saw (1), cut through drive shaft (2) from rear.

Withdraw drive shaft (1) from gearing (2).

Loosen screws (1).

Remove gearing (2).

Adjust front seat via drive shaft (1).

NOTE: Detach cover (2) if gearing (4) is faulty.
Release screws (3) and remove gearing (4).

Remove front seat.  See 52 13 000 Removing And Installing Left Or Right Front Seat  .

Replace seat mechanism  on front seat. See 52 13 025 Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Or Right Seat Mechanism  .
